Why Fort Washington Church?

“My spouse and I have searched for a home church for our family for awhile.  We were referred to Fort Washington Collegiate Church and when we arrived we saw a rainbow flag on the door and decided it can’t be that bad, let’s give it a try. Our family was welcomed with open arms, the pastor and members of the church were so welcoming and gave us love, and at that very moment we knew we found our home and we knew we wouldn’t be judged for who we were. This is now our home church and we wouldn’t want it any other way.”

“When my daughter was 4 years old she said to me, "I want to learn more about Jesus!" There was this church with a beautiful garden just down the hill, and 41 years later, I am still here because this is not just my church but my family. This is where I come to praise God and fellowship with other believers who also love and support each other. I thank God for my church family, not only for what it means to me but for what it also means to this community.”

“‘Ohana means family, and what do we do for our family?’ We help them. That’s what this church is to me. It’s my family and has been since day one. After church shopping for a couple of months, I came here and knew I was home. This was my healing place after losing my dad to cancer. It also brought me closer to God.”

“Growing up in the church community in the south, this was my village. Through the years, this notion has remained with me. Church is where fellowship occurs. Where life becomes more meaningful with the simple perspective that we are never alone. With God’s grace, guidance and protection, alongside fellow members of Fort Washington Collegiate Church, we do life together.”

“For us, FWCC has been a place of healing and encouragement. We love that all are truly welcome here, a place where "love in the move" is not just an expression but an active reality.”

“We are a church that actively practices our faith. An enormous part of where this institution is reminds me that where stand I so stands the fullness of God. And that’s true for each of us.”
