RENOVATION & EXPANSION

Perspecitive View

We are so pleased to announce that our building renovation/expansion project has received final approval from the Collegiate Consistory.  Our Building Team, consisting of Reverend Morris, Reverend Rodriguez, Reverend Parrish, Scott Simpson, our architect, a Project Consultant, our Project Manager, and Frank Malensek (Collegiate VP of Sacred Properties), is meeting weekly to complete all that is necessary to break ground this spring (April 2013).  In order to move into this exciting time for our church family, we have already done some reconfiguration of our existing space this past summer and we just refurbished the gym.   We are getting that much closer to starting this ambitious and exciting project, which will make our church building fully accessible, with additional program/meeting rooms, a beautiful new gathering space, an elevator, a new kitchen and bathrooms.

This page has been created for regular updates.
Keep checking for new information and let others know about it!
Together we can face the changes ahead and help to build a new and exciting space for our church family, our neighborhood, and for future generations!

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE (April 9, 2013)
On April 1, pre-construction asbestos abatement work began and access to parts of the building is restricted (except for Sundays.)  We are pleased and relieved that our “swing space” is open for business down in the basement of Holyrood Episcopal Church, just two blocks south on Fort Washington Avenue at 179th Street!   The swing space is fully secured, self-contained, and available for our use as needed.  This will provide us with a wonderful opportunity to maintain our day-to-day operations and our regular programming during the construction process.
