Growing up in a small rural community north of New York City and serving for twenty three years as the pastor of two suburban congregations in New Jersey, one small and one large, I never imagined that living and working in the city would become a part of my life story. 

 In 1997, feeling a deepening sense of God’s call, and with the encouragement of family and friends, I accepted the invitation of the Fort Washington Collegiate Church to become Senior Minister. 

 My work as pastor in New York City has not always been easy.  But as I’ve grown into that role, I’ve enjoyed a growing sense of clarity about what God intends for our church family to become; and when asked to describe my vision I say the following:

             As a church family we celebrate community.  We affirm the variety of human experience as we welcome all people to participate in the ministry and mission of the Fort Washington Collegiate Church.  We represent many cultures and points of view.  Our diversity, however, does not drive us apart, but gives us the opportunity to commit to a faith journey, enriched by all, that connects us to God.  Together, by word and deed, we proclaim the good news that there is new life in Christ.

Crecí en una  pequeña comunidad rural al norte de la Ciudad de Nueva York y serví por veinte tres años como el pastor de dos congregaciones suburbanas en Nueva Jersey, una pequeña y una mas grande, yo nunca me imaginé que viviendo y trabajando en la ciudad llegaría a ser una parte de mi de biografía.

En 1997, sintiendo un profundo llamado de Dios, y con el apoyo de mi familia y amigos, acepté la invitación de la Fort Washington Colegiada para ser su Pastor. 

Mi trabajo como pastor en la Ciudad de Nueva York no  ha sido fácil. Pero como he crecido en ese ministerio, me he gozado en ver la claridad acerca de lo qué Dios piensa para nuestra congregación; y cuando me piden describir mi visión yo digo lo siguiente:

       Como una  iglesia familiar nosotros celebramos la comunidad. Afirmamos la variedad de la experiencia humana y damos la bienvenida a todas personas para tomar parte en el ministerio y la misión de la iglesia Fort Washington Iglesia. Representamos muchas  culturas y puntos de vista. Nuestra diversidad, sin embargo, no nos separa pero nos da la oportunidad de someternos a una jornada de fe que nos conecta a Dios. Junto, por palabra y acto, nosotros proclamamos las buenas noticias de que hay vida nueva en Cristo.
