Adult Education & Spiritual Growth

As a church committed to deepening our spiritual journey, nurturing our faith, and developing a mature and knowledgeable understanding of ourselves as Christians, we offer learning opportunities that help us explore and practice what it means to create community, connect to God and commit ourselves to the city.

From September to May, we offer short term Sunday morning and afternoon classes, and other educational activities such as workshops, lectures, film series, and arts-based events that are open to members and friends.  Our educational programs explore a variety of topics and issues that matter to all of us and help us to deepen our spiritual journey as an open, inclusive and welcoming church community.

Programs are designed to be urban/multi-culturally sensitive, and communicate excitement in learning and growing together as God's people.

Classes: Short-term classes, led by Fort Washington ministers, lay leaders, and special guests typically meet on Sunday mornings and, periodically, in the afternoons.  Topics range from examining books of the Bible (like the book of Psalms in January 2011) to spirited discussions on a number of issues, such as living in a diverse/multi--faith world, being a servant leader, and discovering your personal power and spiritual path.

Other Educational Activities: Our other adult education activities, including mini-conferences, lectures and film series, provide wonderful opportunities to hear from experts and further explore contemporary issues from a theological, biblical and practical perspective.

If you are interested in participating in a course, workshop, film series or lecture, please join us on a Sunday!
