Children's Sunday Worship

& Nursery

Children start off their Sunday with the whole congregation in the sanctuary, sitting with parents and friends.  After our Call to Worship and opening music (about ten minutes into the service) all children are invited to join our trained teachers and caring volunteers for worship and learning activities right next to the sanctuary in a kid-friendly environment.

Young Children & Worship: (Early childhood, ages 3 – 5) Our pre-school and kindergarten children gather in our new worship center dedicated just for them and located inside our Fellowship Hall. They will hear and see stories from scripture in a way that allows them to enter into the stories and form responses out of their own life experiences using small wooden figures and arts materials.

Godly Play: (Middle childhood, ages 6-8)
These children are led down-stairs to their very own worship center downstairs where they, too, experience the stories of the bible in a multi-sensory way.

Godly Time: (Late childhood, ages 9-12)
Our older children get together in the Fellowship Hall, where they continue their exploration of the parables of Jesus and dig deeper into foundational stories.

Nursery: (Infants and toddlers, ages 0 – 3)
Our littlest ones can be left in the care of our nurturing staff before or during the worship service. Parents can then pick up their children after worship.

-Our nursery is open to infants through age 3 from 10:15 am until 1:15 pm to accommodate parents.
There are two staff members present in our nursery at all times. We use volunteers from our church family who assist our nursery staff as needed.

Children are always welcome to remain with family in the sanctuary as we worship together.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Tuesdays 7:00 pm

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own
contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets regularly at Fort Washington Collegiate Church on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.

For more information about AA please visit their website at:

Narcotics Anonymous
Saturdays 10:00am

Narcotics Anonymous sprang from the Alcoholics Anonymous Program of the late 1940s, with meetings first emerging in the Los Angeles area of California, USA, in the early Fifties. The NA program started as a small US movement that has grown into one of the world's oldest and largest organizations of its type.

NA's earliest self-titled pamphlet, known among members as "the White Booklet," describes Narcotics Anonymous this way:

"NA is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We . meet regularly to help each other stay clean. ... We are not interested in what or how much you used ... but only in what you want to do about your problem and how we can help."

Membership is open to all drug addicts, regardless of the particular drug or combination of drugs used. When adapting AA's First Step, the word "addiction" was substituted for "alcohol," thus removing drug-specific language and reflecting the "disease concept" of
addiction.

There are no social, religious, economic, racial, ethnic, national, gender, or class-status membership restrictions. There are no dues or fees for membership.

Narcotics Anonymous provides a recovery process and support network inextricably linked together. One of the keys to NA's success is the therapeutic value of addicts working with other addicts. Members share their successes and challenges in overcoming active addiction and living drug-free productive lives through the application of the principles contained within the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of NA. These principles are the core of the Narcotics Anonymous recovery program.

Principles incorporated within the steps include:
. admitting there is a problem;
. seeking help;
. engaging in a thorough self-examination;
. confidential self-disclosure;
. making amends for harm done; and
. helping other drug addicts who want to recover.

Narcotics Anonymous meets regularly at Fort Washington Collegiate Church on Saturday mornings from 10:00am until noon.
