GATHERING WORDS                                          PSALM 100

Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
     Worship the Lord with gladness.
      Come before him, singing with joy.
  Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
      He made us, and we are his.
      We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
 Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
      go into his courts with praise.
      Give thanks to him and praise his name.
 For the Lord is good.
      His unfailing love continues forever,
      and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

PRAYER FOR GOD’S BLESSING                                        UNISON

        Mindful of your never failing love, we gather today, Lord, to add our human voices to the chorus of praise         that          resounds                throughout     all            creation.   We come as we are – distracted and weary, hopeful and open, knowing that you invite us, without condition, into the journey of faith that leads to the fullness of life.  Still in us the many voices that clamor for attention, that we may center ourselves upon you.      Bless us with your Holy Spirit, that we may proclaim you glory and be strengthened to serve Jesus as Lord.   Amen.

PRAYER FOR GOD’S FORGIVENESS                          UNISON

Gracious God, you know how we have tried to avoid being faithful.  You put before us the challenge to love neighbors, but, so often, we consider our own self-interests to be more important.  When we encounter people who suffer, our lack of compassion makes us pass them by.  Forgive us, Lord, when our hardened hearts make us resist change and growth.  Grant us a full measure of your grace, that we may be free to live in ways that please you.  Amen.
